Otters!

The  Australia  Zoo  also  has  a  family  of  otters!

I  loved  watching  the  otters  busily  scampering  about.

I  am  glad  it  is  not  a  real  croc!

Today  I  saw  some  snappy  crocodiles!

They  were  different  ages  and  sizes.

Today  I  went  to  the  Australia  Zoo  to  see lots  of  cool  animals.

Here  I  am  sitting  with  the  kangaroos!

Here  is  a   mother  kangaroo.

What  do  you  notice?

I  watched  the  tortoises  eating  their  breakfast.

Hi Room 1  Kids,

Here  I  am  sun  bathing  on  the  beach  in  beautiful  Noosa!

It  is  so  hot  here.  

Soon  I  will  be  going  for  a  cool  swim  in  the  sea.

What  do  you  like  doing  at  the  beach?

Tomorrow  I am  going  to  the  Australia  Zoo.  

I  wonder  what  I  will  see there?

Hi  Kids  in  Room 1,

I  am  on  my  way  to  Australia  for  my  holiday  in  the  sun!

Thank  you  for  telling  me  all  about  airports  today.  I  knew  just  what  to  do  when  I got  there.  Now  I am  a  passenger  in  the  plane  waiting  for  take-off.

I  am  at  calf  club  with  my  lamb.

I  got  a  ribbon  for  leading  with  my  lamb.

I  feeled  glad  because  I  was  out  in  the  pen  with  my  lamb.

Jack and the Beanstalk!

We  have  been  reading  the  story  'Jack  in  the  Beanstalk'  because  we  have  planted  beans  seeds  in  our  room!

Here  we  making  a  giant  beanstalk  by  rag  rolling  paint onto  a  large  sheet  of  paper.  

Come  and  see  our  beanstalk  in  our  classroom  but, watch  out  for  the  giant!  

Sharing

We  are  sharing  the  lego  so  everyone  can  have  some!

Jack  and  Max  are  sharing  the books  on  the  fish  cushion.

Keira  and  Ashton  are  sharing  the  bee  and  the  snake  puppets.

Tree Planting

This  week  we  planted  three  new  kowhai  trees  in  our  school.

Jack  was  chosen  to  help.  Ka  pai  Jack!!!

We  were  sitting  down  listening  to  Mathew  say  a  Maori  welcome  and  blessing.

 

Then we  carried  the  tree  into  the  hole.

                           
                           

Lastly  we  covered  the  roots  in  the  hole  with  dirt.

I  used  the  shovel  to  carry  the  dirt.

Spring at Hinuera School

We  went  for  a  spring  walk  around  our  school  today.

We  found  some  signs  of  spring.

We  had  great  fun  at  cross  country.
